The TYPO3 Association has officially launched the budget process for 2023.

The call for budget ideas is open! All budget proposals must align with the goal, Strengthen the project. Submit your idea before 31 December 2022. Decisions will be announced at the end of January 2023.

About The TYPO3 Budget

The Business Control Committee (BCC) is in charge of the budget. Traditionally, the TYPO3 Association annual budget is made up of membership fees plus any additional funding from the Association reserve (made up of membership entrance fees). The budget for 2023 will be the income from membership fees plus any remaining budget not spent in 2022. 

The forecast income from membership fees will fund existing teams and cover the costs of running the Association. Any remaining funds will be invested in budget ideas from the community.

We are aware that last year's call for budget ideas did not run as smoothly as we had wished. We learned from that experience and have implemented a number of changes. We’re striving for a better and faster budget approval process this time around.

The 2023 Budget Goal: Strengthen The Project

Rather than granting “money requests”, we want to work with you to connect all budget ideas with an existing TYPO3 initiative, team, or individual so that we can fund efforts that support our goals.

Last year, the budget ideas focussed on the goal to foster and grow the TYPO3 community and number of TYPO3 Association members. For 2023, the goal set by the Board of the TYPO3 Association is Strengthen the project

We are looking for ideas to increase the resources for our project, and this includes more members, more contributors, more funds, and more sustainability.

We invite you as a member of the TYPO3 Association to brainstorm project ideas to contribute to this overall goal. The more a budget request aligns with the goal, the more likely funding will be granted.

Submit Your Budget Idea

Use the Idea Submission—T3A Budget 2023 form to submit your idea. We will read your submission carefully, and come back with questions and suggestions on how to proceed to get your idea up and running in 2023.

Submissions are open until 31 December 2022.

The members' poll on the ideas will be held in January, and decisions announced at the end of January 2023.
